The Society for Experimental Biology
One of five owner societies working together at Charles Darwin House to strengthen the voice of Biology and create a national hub for the subject. Santander
Santander believes that the University plays a fundamental role in the knowledge society. Through its Santander Universities Division, it has collaborated with universities for 18 years, providing support for the development of academic initiatives relating to scholarships; mobility grants; research programmes; university-enterprise relations; new technologies; promotion of the Spanish language, and global projects. Santander Universities and the University of York in America (alumni and friends in the USA), have funded generous Santander International Connections Awards to members of the team. The awards were applied for through the Centre for Global Programmes, and significantly contributed towards the travel and accommodation expenses for the Giant Jamboree.
Yorkshire Water
Yorkshire Water manage the collection, treatment and distribution of water in Yorkshire, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day. At the same time, they also collect, treat and dispose of about one billion litres of waste water safely back into the environment. They operate more than 700 water and sewage treatment works and 120 reservoirs and look after 62,000 miles of water and sewerage mains - enough pipework to circulate the earth! Yorkshire Water donated money towards our project and also gave us advice on the wastewater industry.
