<p> Our project is focused on the bioremediation of lake Xochimilco. We are producing a bio circuit composed by a biosensor, which detects oxygen levels below 2 mg/L, that will function as a switch that activates the denitrification process.

The objective is to decrease the level of nitrates and nitrites in the water. Currently, these compounds are acting as agents in eutrophication, as well as fertilizing an invasive species, thus contributing to lake and biodiversity destruction.</p>
