The Team

We are a group of 11 enthusiastic and motivated undergraduate students from TU Eindhoven. Inspired by the great achievement of last year’s team (Winner of the “Best new application project”, undergrad )
iGEM Eindhoven 2014 developed membrane proteins to which they could attach any azide-functionalized molecule. The attachment of DBCO-functionalized molecules happens through the SPAAC Click Chemistry reaction, a fully bio-orthogonal reaction. To enable the attachment, they introduced a non-natural amino acid, exploiting the Amber Stop Codon. They were rewarded the prestigious 'Best New Application' prize for undergraduates for their work. For more information on their project, we refer to their wiki page .
and eager to explore the field of synthetic biology, we are driven to set the bar high with an innovative and socially relevant idea. If you want to find out more about the individual members, try out our very own memory!
