You can work with any other team in the competition, including software, hardware, high school and other tracks. collaboration

We mentored a new high school team SKLBC-GDSYZX and helped them with their project. During this summer, we invited members of SKLBC-GDSYZX to our lab for a three-day experiment train and gave them a better understanding of synthetic biology. Besides, we completed a part of their project and tested the software they designed and then gave them feedback so that they can improve it. We also got some suggestions about our project from their instructor, Doctor Zhang Simin.

Following is the Collaborations track of team SKLBC-GDSYZX.

Meetup 2015 July 14th

At that day, the members of three software teams including SKLBC-China, SYSU-Software and SKLBC-GDSYZX, and three laboratory teams including SCUT, SCUT-China and our team, gathered together at the lab in our school. We discussed and exchanged thoughts about the relationship and interaction between the software and experiment of synthetic biology. At this meet-up, we also shared our experience in iGEM with two new teams, SKLBC-China and SKLBC-GDSYZX.

Experiment train 2015 August 7th- 9th

Team SKLBC-GDSYZX’s project is an online panel app, with which iGEMers can easily paint their gene circuits in the same model. As we know, a good product must meet the needs of customs. As a new high school team, they couldn’t understand the iGEMers’ demand when designing of gene circuits. In order to gave them a better understanding of synthetic biology, during August 7th- 9th, we designed a series of basic genetic circuit constructing experiment.

Gene circuits library

In order to help the iGEMers create more amazing circuits easily, we suggested SKLBC-GDSYZX to added remarkable designs of iGEMs’ teams to build up a gene circuit library, during which they can test their app and gain some novel idea with the library. However, gathering the gene circuits is a hard work for them, because they have to read the projects of previous iGEMs’ teams and they lack experience of painting gene circuits. Therefore, we finished reading the projects and used the panel app to complete the construction of gene circuits library, after which we gave them a feedback to help them improve panel app.

course design

The content of Team SKLBC-GDSYZX’s human practice is having a class about syntheic biology .There are some trouble for them to learn syntheic biology accurately because of their limited knowledge background ,so we suggest to collect and simplify the knowledge point for them which could help them understand easily and save their time.At last, we complete the work that we mainly refer to the book of Introduction To Synthetic Biology by Song Kai and some summarize.
