Good Lab Practice Techniques

Always wear the provided safety equipment (gloves, lab coat etc) when in the lab. Do not wear outside lab and always dispose of gloves when removed.
Always run a control sample.
Once a procedure has been established always follow it.
Report all accidents to a supervisor
Never carry out unauthorised experiments.
Never eat, drink or bring personal belonging into the lab.
Wash hands before leaving the lab.

Emergency Response Protocols

Medical Emergency
It is important to remain calm in situation like these. The level of threat posed to the person's life dictates what happens next. The emergency services are to be called immediately and someone must attend to the victim's wounds. If only one person is present with the injured they must shout for help, stop any immediate dangers to the patient (i.e. stop any major bleeding) and then call 999.
Fire
Ring the fire alarm, and if the fire is small try to extinguish it or suffocate it with the various tools available.
Contaminant Outbreak
people in the immediate area must be made aware, and the spill, if possible must be covered with appropriate equipment. If it is flammable all Bunsens must be turned off and depending on the severity of the spill, the lab must be evacuated.
Hazardous Material Splashed in Eye
Immediately rinse eyeball in a sink provided and wash inner surface of eyelid thoroughly for at least 15 minutes. Medical attention should also be attained and the incident must be reported.
Natural Disaster/ Zombie Apocalypse
From here on in it is every man, woman, child and paraplegic pet for themselves.
As soon as the event occurs the lab must be locked down. All entrances and exits must be secured to stop anyone or anything from entering. The world has changed now and nobody can be trusted, not your own team. ESPECIALLY YOUR OWN TEAM. You must cut all ties with you past life, break bonds with your given name and adopt a new, chosen name.
Weapons must be made, the school has supplies and people will want to take them. You must be prepared to fight. A flamethrower can be made with a Bunsen burner, a box of matches and a can of aerosol.
A leader must be established to help survive the new world order. This will be determined by a series of " Survival Scrimmages". The winner will be declared The Grand Lord Herald and will have his or her pick of any and all bounty including but not limited to gold, food, slaves and of course goats.
If you choose not to follow a leader you must leave the city and live in the woods (maybe the ones behind Bluebell accommodation) as a feral warrior who feeds off squirrel and partially digested pumpkin seeds.
