Two hybrid system
The two hybrid system, a molecular screening system frequently used to discover protein-protein interactions (PPIs). The fundamentally premise, and the reason why the two hybrid screen functions, is that the transcription factors, the activation and binding domains can function without direct binding; the subunits only have to be in proximity to each other.
