After modeling AladDNA, these are the most important features that characterize our genetically engineered machine: - It is controlled by two consecutive inputs, each of both can be blue or red light, and their combination results in different outputs. - When both inputs are of the same color, it is better to consider them as a single long input, avoiding pauses in the induction and dark intermediate periods. - When first and second input differ in color, recombinases action is the key element in order to activate the second input. The efficiency of the whole process is affected by the time required by these enzymes to inactivate the production of the second level that was not activated. - Massive amounts of gene copies result in high levels of basal expression which are enough to produce both recombinases, that cut alternatives of the second level. - Multiple production pathways are possible with simultaneous inputs and sequences with more than two input elements.
- Input sequences that achieve maximum results for the production of each output are:Alpha input sequence.
Beta input sequence.
Gamma input sequence.
Omega input sequence.
