T-shirt production is through our elaborate plan and in order to enhance teachers and students interest in biology field. Therefore, we plan this non-profit project. On July the 28th my group held this project and all needs of this activity though ourselves sought auspices to sponsor. Such as: T-shirt, pigments. Before the start of activity, we invite our team’ originator to explain the knowledge about synthetic biology. Thus, enrich students’ knowledge, in accordance with our experiment content and explain what’s IGEM and it significance. It’s very useful for students to grasp what knowledge they couldn’t get on books.
Under the guidance of the students in our group, students begun know how to used pigment painting in T-shirt and what kind of biology picture they could paint. At last, we found our school’ teacher and group member’ parents to be our reviewers. The winner will obtain the synthetic biology gift, let him of speech and took photo with our team. This campaign make students enhance the knowledge from synthetic biology and increase the friendship between them. We through publicity IGEM to express we respect for IGEM and desire to win.
On July the 23th, we held a lecture about the iGEM to my classmates, the purpose of the lecture is to introduce the synthetic biology.
First, I suggested them to talk about their own view about the synthetic biology, then, I showed them three examples of the applications of synthetic biology in our daily lives. Besides, I also encouraged them to join the DIY T-shirts program.
We connect we the World magazine and publish the Igem monograph . In the magazine we discuss the safety, ethic, advantage and disadvantage of the synthetic biology. We record the process of our team, including the safety of the experiment and the what we learned during the experiment in the CAS. World magazine is established by the Liaoning province Shiyan high school’s international department., facing the entire school and the high school in the province,; therefore, through the magazine, we are able to share and discuss the igem with other students.
Shenyang vegetable and fruit wholesale market is a collecting and distributing center, many wholesalers collect in here. From July 24th to 25th we dispense hundreds of questionnaires, collecting the data about the pesticide residue.
We do a new way spread the knowledge of biology to the public, and we update the dynamic of our team work.
