MEET THE TEAM

Our team is made up of 10 undergraduates and postgraduates from different disciplines as well as our supervisors. The iGEM Team Berlin 2015 is an assembly of highly motivated students from different universities. Due to the multidisciplinarity our team is able to find different strategies to solve complex problems in synthetic biology. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Nediljko Budisa group leader of the Biocatalysis Group at the TU-Berlin. Our lab is located at the Müller-Breslau-Straße 10, 10623 Berlin (Germany).

Johannes von Sass

Johann Bauerfeind
Master student in Life Science Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) in Berlin.
iGEM Berlin 2014 alumni and responsible for fliC BioBrick design.
I supported the team with solving problems in their strategy and kept them updated about iGEM stuff.
Mariam Hammoud
Biotechnology student at the Technical University of Berlin.
team leader and financial coordinator.
I coordinated the project and took care of all the financial stuff,
including writing applications to different enterprises for supporting us. I worked in the laboratory with the team.
Raha Tehrani
Master student in Medical Biotechnology at the Technical University of Berlin. Laboratory research associate and fund-raiser.
I worked in the laboratory and also wrote applications to enterprises.
Zehra Uyar
Master student in Medical Biotechnology at the Technical University of Berlin. Laboratory research associate and fund-raiser.
Working in the laboratory was my task, too, and I also supported the financial team with their applications.
Pablo Rojas
PhD Student of Medical Microbiology at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin.External research consultant on bacterial cellulose biosynthesis.
I was responsible for the cellulose part in this project and designed some animations for visualizations.
Benjamin Haby
Master student in industrial Biotechnology at the Technical University of Berlin. Laboratory research associate and web developer
I worked in the laboratory and took care of the wiki page during the project.
Philipp Albrecht
Bachelor Student in Bioinformatics at Free University of Berlin.
Development of Web Design
I was mainly responsible for the wiki page.
Jan Schneider

I designed the D3 domain in pymol.
Valerian Blos
Student of Visual Communication at the University of Arts.
