Until now, the only documented antifreeze protein in the iGEM parts registry was ZeAFP. This year's WPI iGEM team set out to bring more antifreeze proteins to iGEM and succesfully created a library of 23 antifreeze protein BioBricks consisting of 16 unique antifreeze proteins.
