Before iGEM, I also had internships in other institutes. Thus, I am responsible for the experiment parts. For me, the iGEM competition is a big opportunity for me to make a breakthrough of myself. It is not only about a great deal of new knowledge, technique and experience I can get from the experiment. Moreover, it gives me a chance to actually participate in the generation of an innovation, from the development of a new idea to finally give rise to the final product.
| ||

When there is a chance to make an effort on a self-designed experiment, everything taught in lectures becomes vivid and the discoveries made before just sound more exciting. I like the idea of genetic circuit and fortunately this is what we are heading for. Up to now what I’ve done most are literature research and paper work, I fresh myself when going through research articles. Thanks for my teammates' help; I now do it more efficiently. I really enjoy the time spending with them, sharing information and taking a walk from the lab. So...just hope we can finally make it!
| ||

+ |
Hello everyone! I’m Yakun Tang and I’m a year 2 student in Biological department of XJTLU. This is the first time I participate in iGEM, so for me, this project is like a gate which leads to a magic biology world. During the participation of this project, I learn much more knowledge than that from books, and many skills such as literature reviewing skills and experimental skills are quickly improved. More importantly, I meet and know our teammates who are all very capable and full of enthusiasm and I learn a lot from them. My work in our iGEM team is dealing with finanicial affairs as well as conducting some experiments. Both of these two need patience and carefulness, but as a smart girl^0^, I will try my best!
| ||

Team introduction
Instructor & Sponsor
Guoxia Han
Hello, world champions! You are the creators of new world, while I am just one of the supporters for you guys. No matter how many rewards or how much honor I achieved, I might be your student in iGEM competition. I know the team experienced a difficult time because of permit and sponsor. Hence, I deal with these issues and encourage you to focus on the project. Here I appreciate all team members in XJTLU-CHINA iGEM team. It is them that create a wonderful project. They merit it!
Dechang Xu
Hello, I am Da Xu. I have supported iGEM teams for 5 years. This year I participate in XJTLU-CHINA iGEM team. I give some useful advice on mathematical modeling and experiment plan. I am very happy to help these young adults do what they want. Also, I hope they could achieve a good result.
Yunpeng Zhong
Hi, I am Yunpeng. I join in the XJTLU-CHINA team as lab instructor and sponsor. I manage a synbio company in Suzhou Industry Park. I am very interested in iGEM competition and would like to support their experiment with funding and technology. After a hot summer, I am very proud to these smart and hard-working teenagers.
Students
Yuwei Han
Hi, I am yuwei of XJTLU biological science year three. I am 21, and I am sure this is the most exciting and challenging competition I’ve ever participated in.
Jiongjian Li
Hello, I’ m Jiongjian Li, a second year student from the XJTLU’s Biology major. This is my first year to join iGEM and it is great to join this competition. The best thing in this world is thinking about new idea. That is what I do in this team. Also, I am willing to work with other teammates to achieve our goals.
Tiange Li
Hi I’m Tiange Li (Mag) and this is my first tour of iGEM. I bet say it is one of the most extraordinary things happened in my year 2 biology study.
Yakun Tang
Chenghao shen
Hello, everyone! I’m Harrison Shen studying in XJTLU, majored in biological sciences, for 3 years and there is one year left for my graduation. How time flies! It is a great pleasure to work as a team during our project. Considered taking the advantage of my computer skills, I am responsible for team poster, brief video production and wiki page beautification. The iGEM is a worldwide competition and joining this not only broadens my horizons and improves my knowledge but also meets new friends and strengthens our friendship. Engaging in synthetic biology, all we need is to come up with more imaginative ideas to create human-friendly designs for our lives. Just do it! I believe future world will be dominated by biotechnology.
Ziang Shi
Hello everyone, my name is Ziang Shi. And I’m studying computer science in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. It is my pleasure for non-biology student to join iGEM team. I really hope to use my programming knowledge to contribute our team in constructing wiki as well as giving advises in dealing with data. As a young undergraduate, iGEM provide a valuable opportunity to practice our skills and learn extra knowledge in a short period time. In addition, it is a memorable experience to work with friend for the same goal. I will keep working our enjoyable project to help team get best result.
Wenbo Xu
Hi, I am James. I am biology science student in XJTLU. I am proud to participate in iGEM competition this summer. Maybe I am a staggering genius and always do something different. But, at this time I will cooperate with my teammates and solve difficult problems in any aspect of our project. I believe our iGEM team will be different because of me as well as every teammate.
Hao Wu
Hey, I am Hao Wu and I am a student majoring in the biology science in Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. I worked in the RNA thermometer group and focus on the design of riboswitch. I have learned a lot and gained valuable experience. Also I had a deeper understand of synthetic biology. Among the six months, although we have come across plenty of difficulties, we still enjoy this unforgettable experience. I'm glad to be one of the iGEMers and looking forward to meeting others all over the world.
Xinhao Wang
Hi everyone! I’m Xinhao Wang and that’s my first year in XJTLU iGEM Team. I’m a year 2 student studying Biology at Xian JiaoTong-Liverpool University and I really enjoy the work during our project. As a member of our team I work with my teammates to develop the innovative ideas and devote myself to the lab work. Through iGEM my knowledge of synthetic biology was greatly enriched and I learnt valuable skills in this field. During the designing and conducting of of our project, our attitude of doing science is becoming more careful and thorough. IGEM is a great experience for us science students to combine our ideas and practical lab work. We are all working and giving our best for our project.
Yizhou Wang
Hi everyone! I’m Yizhou Wang, a XJTLUer major in biology science, and that’s my first time participating in iGEM competition. In a amazing team, I really enjoy the time spent with other team members during our project. As a team member, conducting experiments is my major task in which caution and preciseness keep in my mind all the time. iGEM is a gate for me to formally enter in research field. I don’t want to struggle for gold medal but rather build relationships and learn incredible knowledge as well as recognizing how “things” are created from parts by measures of synthetic biology. We strive for perfection with our wisdom and capture the everyone’s light of wisdom to perfect perfection.
Wang Zixu
My name is Wang Zixu, member of XJTLU igem team. You can also call me William. It is a great honor to take part in this competition where I learned a lot about synthetic biology and made lots of new friends.
Yinsiyi Wang
Hello, everyone! I am Yinsiyi.Wang, a photographer in XJTLU-CHIAN iGEM team. Although I am an urban planning graduate and I know iGEM is synbio competition, however I still can help our team in human practice part. I take picture and video to record our work in summer. I am very happy to join them and also I want to make new friends in Boston. Giant jamboree I am coming!
Tianhua Zhai
Hello everyone! I am Tianhua.Zhai. I am a biology student in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, which is an international and novel university in China. This year I join the iGEM-XJTLU team to fight for the gold medal in iGEM competition. I am responsible for writing our wiki and supporting lab group in our team. Also, I work for human practice to let public know iGEM and synbio. iGEM is a fantastic and challengeable competition, I feel really excited and pleased to participate in it. I would like to learn how to work in a team and make true friends. I believe that there is no royal road to science, and only those who do not dread the fatiguing climb of its steep paths have a chance of gaining its luminous summits.
Zhe Yang
I’m Zhe Yang and second year biological student of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University. This is my first time to know iGEM competition and lead a team to participant. I really enjoy the work during the project. There is a story that I know this competition from my internship supervisor in March and I begin to study synthetic biology. During this project, I learn knowledge in synthetic biology and it gives me experience of designing and conducting an experiment. I really enjoy this summer and have many friends. I think iGEM is a good opportunity for students to study synthetic biology together and communicate with students from different universities. It is lucky to be here, iGEM.
