XJTLU-CHINA
Saftey
Biosafety is probably the most controversial issue in synthetic biology field. Being responsible to others and ourselves, we have to take this seriously.
2015 XJTLU team took variety of measures to promote the safety in the lab. We reached an agreement in a discussion and drafted a lab policy. For our project, using low hazard strains minimizes the potential risks of our project.
Policy
(Sorry for only Chinese version provided.)
The policy not only includes the main clauses in safety guideline of laboratory but also add a few special requirements as well as tips. For instances, “having a good mood” is documented as the top one because keeping your mind clean, clear, positive and free is usually a good way to ensure the correctness of experiments and the safety. In order to guarantee the implementation of the policy, we chose one of our team members as a supervisor.
