Bug Shoo - an innovator repellent

Bug shoo is the representation of our project for society.

It is the way that our team designed a product, manufactured with the tools of synthetic biology, which may be effective in combating diseases transmitted by insect vectors, such as dengue fever. Its active ingredient is D-limonene, a terpene naturally produced by citrus plants, which has repellent effect. Its production will be performed by phenomenon of plasmolysis of genetically programmed bacteria.

Find out in our project the three main characteristics that make Shoo Bug a single repellent that could be presented later to the market. Also, follow along as our team has developed Policy & Practices of structured activities to raise awareness about dengue and Synthetic Biology.
