<p>This year we are going to utilizing the power of light sensing proteins to store biological information into bacteria with the help from genetic manipulation approaches.</p>

<p>In order to fulfill that purpose, we selected three types of mainstream systems, including red, blue and green light system. Whenever there is a light signal, the recombination system within engineered bacteria, say E. coli, can be turn on or off by the combinatory effect of sensors and effectors. Therefore, the activated recombinase can accurately revert, delete or exchange its target sequence, consequently introducing a new set of information due to the gain or loss of DNA fragments. With the guidance from this prototype, we would be able to train various bacteria to carry more elegant functions, such as bio-calculation and bio-programming.</p>
