Through the AlumniGEM mentorship program, high school and collegiate teams will be guided by one or two mentors throughout the summer on processes such as designing an experiment, creating a project abstract, developing a team wiki, and submitting a BioBrick. They will have online meetings with their mentors at least once per month in June, July, August, and in September if needed to learn these various aspects of iGEM and to have their questions answered.

To further expand the number of teams involved in iGEM, new teams are especially encouraged to apply. Returning teams that would benefit significantly from mentoring are also encouraged.

Additionally, a special mentorship workshop will be held at the iGEM Jamboree, where those who participated in the program and other jamboree attendees will be invited. We will discuss everyone's experiences so we can make the program even better next year. We hope to see you there!

The First Round of Applications for Teams are due on Friday, June 19th at 23:59 U.S. Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-04:00).
