It is very important that scientists work with the general public in an open manner so that we can understand the issues that come when new research is applied. There can sometimes be gaps between this type of discussion in the forms of paywalls, jargon and misleading articles, and it is crucial that we address these issues - especially when research evokes controversy, such as with genetic engineering.
