| We are excited to showcase our summer's work at the Giant Jamboree 2015 in Boston! | Experimentally validated and showed success on one of our key Biobricks, BBa_K1813026! Learn more about it here! | Having interviewed a variety of key stakeholders and conducted an environmental safety report, we identified concerns over the spread of our engineered bacteria into other organisms. To address this, we worked with G. apicola and S. alvi , microaerophilic bacteria native to the honeybee midgut that would not be expected to survive at environmental oxygen levels. | Completed the Judging Form! | Due to the importance of bees, a variety of stakeholders are involved. Through interviews, we identified a variety of policy and perception issues, and addressed these through a combination of reports, public engagement activities, and media engagement. Please visit our policy and practices timeline here! | Created a functional prototype in the form of bees carrying our transformed bacteria. Experiments were conducted to determine their susceptibility to imidacloprid to replicate real-world conditions. |
