University of Glasgow
The University of Glasgow is the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland's four ancient universities. It was founded in 1451. Along with the University of Edinburgh, the University was part of the Scottish Enlightenment during the 18th century. It is currently a member of Universitas 21, the international network of research universities. This iGEM team received financial support from the University of Glasgow.

This iGEM team has been funded by the MSD Scottish Life Sciences Fund. As part of an ongoing contribution to Scottish life sciences, MSD limited, a global healthcare leader has given substantial monetary funding to the Scottish Funding Council(SFC) for distribution via the Scottish Universities Life Sciences Alliance(SULSA) to develop and deliver a high quality drug discovery research and training programme. Integrated DNA Technologies, Inc. (IDT), headquartered in Coralville, Iowa, is the world's largest supplier of custom nucleic acids, serving the areas of academic research, biotechnology, clinical diagnostics, and pharmaceutical development. IDT's primary business is the manufacturing of custom DNA and RNA oligonucleotides (oligos) for research applications. This iGEM team received free DNA synthesis from IDT.

The Society for General Microbiology (SGM) is a learned society based in the United Kingdom with a worldwide membership based in universities, industry, hospitals, research institutes and schools. It is the largest learned microbiological society in Europe. The Wellcome Trust is a biomedical research charity based in London, United Kingdom. It was established in 1936 with legacies from the pharmaceutical magnate Sir Henry Wellcome to fund research to improve human and animal health.
