DEADLINE: Career fair exhibitors must register by May 22, 2015
The iGEM competition encourages University student researchers to work in teams and attempted to solve real-world challenges by building genetically engineered biological systems with standard, interchangeable parts called BioBricks from the Registry of Standard Biological Parts. Each team manages their own projects, advocates for their research, and secures funding. Teams are also challenged to actively consider and address the safety, security and environmental implications of their work.
This year all participants advance to compete in Boston, MA, just like in iGEM 2014. With no regionals, all participants are invited to the Giant Jamboree to present their accomplishments and compete in front of a global audience.
Come join the fun and share in the excitement as teams showcase their work in Synthetic Biology.
Why is the Giant Jamboree going to be held on September 24-28?
With over 2500 expected attendees for iGEM 2015, we have no option but to hold the Jamboree at a convention center. The Hynes Convention Center in Boston was not available during our normal times for 2015. We must make reservations more than two years in advance. For example, we are making reservations for 2017 now. For 2016 and 2017, the Jamborees will be held at the end of October to the beginning of November as usual.
How much will it cost to attend the Giant Jamboree?
Team attendance is $695 per attendee. See the attendance fee page for details.
Guest attendance cost is to be determined and will be posted to the attendance fee page when finalized.
What should I bring? What should I leave at home?
Check the What To Bring page for advice on what to bring and what to avoid bringing.
